REMINDER - NCCP Training Session - May 14-16, 2010

NCCP certification will be offered and conducted by NCFCA for the 2010 season. The football specific session will happen on May 14, 15, and 16, 2010. This session is the new NCCP Introduction To Competition course required for football coaching certification.

University of Ottawa & NCFCA 2010 Coaches Clinic

NCFCA is pleased to announce in conjunction with the the University of Ottawa Gee-Gees, the 2010 uOttawa/NCFCA Coaches Clinic.

This years coaching lineup is made up of some of the best CFL coaches in the game presenting all aspects of the game. This years coaching lineup include:

Greg Marshall, Defensive Coordinator, Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Mike Gibson, Offensive Coordinator, Hamilton Tiger-Cats
Jim Daley, Special Teams Coordinator, Saskatchewan Roughriders
Lorne Goldenberg, Strength & Conditioning Coordinator, Montreal Canadiens.

University of Ottawa Gee-Gee Advanced Camp

The University of Ottawa is pleased to announce the 2010 Advance Spring Camp for players aged 14 to 17. The camp is designed as 2 different 3 session camps. Session 1 is for OL/DL/LB/RB/K/P and session 2 is for QB/REC/DB.

U17 EASTERN ONTARIO ALL STAR COACHING STAFF

Some of the most capable and sound football minds in Eastern Canada were put together to lead the U17 Eastern Ontario All Star Team into the Football Canada Cup tournament in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. The result was a Gold Metal performance in the premier event coordinated by Football Canada for U17 Tackle football.

The outstanding coaching staff was put together by Lee Barette. Assistant coaches were temporarily seconded from some of the top CIS football programs in the country.

Lee’s staff consisted of Chris Coulson & Blaine Scatcherd of the University of Ottawa Gee-Gee's, Pat Tracey & Ryan Bechmanis of the Queen’s Golden Gales, Clint Uttley of the McGill Redmen, Danny Laramee of St Mary’s Husky’s, Jason Kana of McMaster Marauders and Richard Burey.

The coaching staff accumulated a team of the top 36, 15 and 16 year old football players from Eastern Ontario and provided them, not only with an outstanding opportunity to learn football at the highest level, but to understand what it takes to prepare for and win a national level competition.

NCFCA congratulates this outstanding group of coaches for their personal commitment and contributions to the football communities of eastern Ontario and Canada.
